Fetchitt respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, applications, and services (the “Service”).
1. Who we are
Fetchitt is the “data controller” of the personal information described here. You can reach us at support@fetchitt.com or 123 Market Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA.
2. Data we collect
Information you provide
- Account: name, email address, phone number, password.
- Client leads: the details you submit about the job you want done (category, budget, timeline, description, answers to guided questions).
- Professional profile: business name, headline, biography, photos, location, niches, hourly rate, website and social links.
- Payments: billing address and the last few digits of your card. Full card details are handled by our payment provider Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and browser information (IP address, user agent, operating system).
- Usage data (pages visited, buttons clicked, referrers, timestamps).
- Approximate geolocation derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use your data
- Create and manage your account and public profile.
- Match clients with professionals and process lead unlocks.
- Process payments and manage credit balances.
- Send transactional messages such as receipts, lead notifications, and account alerts.
- Send marketing communications where you have opted in (you can opt out at any time — see Opt-Out Preferences).
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Improve the Service through analytics and product research.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
4. Legal basis
Where applicable data protection law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep our platform secure, prevent fraud, and improve our products.
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law.
5. When we share data
- Between clients and professionals: once a professional unlocks a lead, your contact details are shared with that professional so they can respond to your job.
- Service providers: hosting, payments (Stripe), email delivery, analytics, and customer support tools acting under contract.
- Public profile: if you publish a seller profile, the information on that profile is visible to anyone with the link.
- Legal & safety: when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and users.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cookies & tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the Service, and optional cookies for analytics and marketing with your consent. Details, categories, and how to control cookies are in our Cookie Policy.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Leads are typically retained for up to 24 months. Payment records are retained for 7 years where required.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and monitored infrastructure — to protect personal data. No system is 100% secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal exceptions).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another provider.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Complain to your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, write to support@fetchitt.com. You can also manage marketing preferences on our Opt-Out Preferences page.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect data in transit.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you by email or via a prominent notice on the Service.
13. Contact
